Football is back in the city — and it’s bringing a new style with it!

From August 20 to September 16, the new Urban Style Team Pass will be available in UFL, celebrating urban football culture, matchday style, and the return of club football after the summer break.

Progress through the Team Pass, earn rewards, and add player cards from the new Urban Style collection, packs, resources, and customization items to your club.

New Urban Style Collection

One of the main highlights of the new Team Pass is the Urban Style player collection.

The special Urban Style Pack features 18 player cards rated from 91 to 94:

The Urban Style Pack comes in three versions — Lite, Standard, and Premium. Each guarantees a 94-rated player card after a certain number of openings:

• Premium — a guaranteed 94-rated card every 5 openings;
• Standard — a guaranteed 94-rated card every 9 openings;
• Lite — a guaranteed 94-rated card every 50 openings.

Four Urban Style Players in the Team Pass

Four more player cards from the Urban Style collection can be earned directly by progressing through the Team Pass. All four are rated 91:

Urban Style in Squad Swaps

Urban Style cards can also be used in Squad Swaps, where you’ll have the chance to earn five more Urban Style player cards rated from 92 to 97.

Lamine Yamal, Cole Palmer, Dani Olmo, Charles De Ketelaere, and Riccardo Calafiori await you in Squad Swaps, featuring the strongest cards in the Urban Style collection.

These cards can have up to three functional skills, while some players also receive an additional position.

Use the Urban Style cards you’ve collected in Squad Swaps, earn new players, and keep strengthening your collection.

Urban Style for Your Club

Urban Style isn’t just about new players. The Team Pass also features customization items inspired by urban football culture, matchday fashion, and the atmosphere of local football pitches.

Rewards include:

• Passing:
  • Reworked the impact of player characteristics on Passes, Driven Passes, and Through Balls.
  • Improved pass responsiveness after receiving the ball and dribbling.
  • Improved the pass destination selection system to better account for the movement of teammates and opponents, as well as open space.
• Pass reception:
  • Added new pass reception animations.
  • Reception quality now depends more heavily on pass quality, the receiving player’s characteristics, and pressure from opponents.
• Refined the system for defender reactions when intercepting passes. The reaction time for initiating an interception now depends on the gameplay situation, player positioning, and defensive characteristics.
• One Touch:
  • Improved input responsiveness for one-touch shots.
  • Added a new characteristic, One Touch, that affects accuracy, shot dispersion, and shot power buildup speed.
• Reworked heading calculations. The outcome now depends more heavily on the speed and direction of the ball, shot power, the jump, and the Heading characteristic.
• Rebalanced the impact of player characteristics on core gameplay mechanics. The speed, accuracy, and effectiveness of actions now depend more heavily on the player’s characteristics while remaining within a more balanced gameplay model.
• Off-the-ball movement:
  • The Agility characteristic now has a greater impact on changes in movement direction.
  • In Jockey, defender effectiveness now depends more heavily on the Defence Awareness characteristic.
• Reworked the stamina consumption system and the impact of fatigue on player actions. Managing stamina throughout the match is now more important, requiring players to choose the right moments for pressing, sprints, and more active play.
• Updated player selection when contesting loose balls and improved automatic player switching in contested gameplay situations. Players now make more logical decisions, while control switching is more consistent and better reflects the flow of play.
• New Skills:
  • Finesse Shot — enables more powerful, accurate, and curved finesse shots, with faster shot execution.
  • Energizer — reduces stamina consumption, improves stamina recovery, and allows players to maintain a high tempo for longer.
• Skill rebalancing:
  • We have also updated the balance of existing Skills to ensure that each retains its unique role without providing an excessive advantage. Skill effectiveness is now more closely tied to player characteristics and the user’s decisions during the match.
• Out-of-position debuffs:
  • Player cards used out of position receive debuffs to their characteristics.
  • The debuffs are automatically removed when the player returns to his correct position.
  • The goal is to encourage more deliberate and authentic squad building and formation choices, as well as to prevent users from exploiting gameplay mechanics by fielding players outside their natural positions.
• Player characteristic updates:
  We have updated the player characteristic system to make it more detailed and intuitive.
  What has changed:
  • Tackles has been split into two characteristics:
    • Standing Tackle
    • Sliding Tackle
  • Pass Accuracy has been split into:
    • Short Pass
    • Long Pass
  • Attack Positioning has been renamed to Attack Awareness.
  • Defensive Positioning has been renamed to Defence Awareness.
  • Awareness has been renamed to Field Vision.
  • Positioning (GK) has been renamed to GK Awareness.
  • New characteristics have been added to the Fitness group:
    • Aggression
    • Balance
  • A new characteristic has been added to the Passing group:
    • Pass Positioning
  • A new characteristic has been added to the Shooting group:
    • One Touch
  • The following characteristic has been moved to the Shooting group:
    • Heading
  • The calculation of overall characteristics and rating for new-season cards has been adjusted: the more important a specific characteristic is for a player’s position, the greater its impact on the resulting value.
• Player characteristics are now more specialized and more accurately reflect players’ strengths, physical characteristics, and effectiveness in different gameplay situations.
• Link-Up Play Style characteristics have been updated accordingly; more details are available in the article. 
• Fixes:
  • Fixed unnatural goalkeeper shoulder movement while idle when the ball was far from the goal.
  • Fixed delayed goalkeeper reactions to a nearby ball when it was passed from one opponent to another.
  • Fixed excessive player drifting during sharp changes of direction while sprint dribbling.
  • Fixed a delay in animation selection after a shot input when the player was moving in strafe mode (LB/L1) away from the goal.
  • Fixed an issue where a player could disappear from the squad when changing Formation.
  • Fixed the penalty shootout victory cutscene in Showdown mode.

AI Assist

• Defensive behavior:
  • Reduced automatic defensive assistance from AI Assist. Successful defending now depends more directly on manual player switching and the user’s ability to control defenders.
  • Attacking movement will now create more gaps in defensive formations, with defenders less tightly bound to their positions and leaving more open space.
  • AI-controlled defenders are now significantly less effective at marking the ball carrier in one-on-one situations, making it noticeably easier to wrong-foot them and dribble past them.
  • Center-backs no longer cluster together when using a narrow Formation.
• Attacking behavior:
  • Players now account for opponent positioning more effectively and try to move into more open passing lanes.
  • Improved player activity and situational behavior inside the opponent’s penalty area. Players now get open more effectively for short passes when the ball is inside the box, and position themselves better for low crosses and crosses when the ball is outside the opponent’s penalty area.
  • Players now better account for the position of the ball carrier and opponents along the offside line; they attempt to make runs into open spaces where the ball carrier can more easily find them with a through pass.
  • Players now account for the offside line more effectively, situationally slowing down or stopping at the line to make it easier to play them in before they move offside.
  • Players now better account for the positioning of teammates and the ball carrier, avoiding runs into areas occupied by other players and staying out of the ball carrier’s path.
  • Fixed an issue where a center-forward would ignore the movement of a wide teammate carrying the ball and continue his run.
  • Players no longer make unnecessary runs toward goal after a shot when there is no clear ball carrier.
  • Players now transition to active play more quickly immediately after winning the ball from an opponent.
• Set pieces:
  • The goalkeeper no longer runs outside the penalty area when attempting to intercept a shot.
  • Fixed incorrect goalkeeper positioning behind the goal when an offside is called near the goal line.
  • Players no longer get stuck in the wall after a fake shot from a free kick.
  • When a player in the wall is substituted, the replacement now correctly takes his place.

Bot

• Adaptive difficulty:
  • Completely reworked how the bot adapts to the user during the introductory match. The AI now assesses the user’s level more effectively and smoothly adjusts its play during the half. The bot takes into account how well the user has mastered the controls, making the match engaging for both newcomers and experienced players.
• AI defensive behavior:
  • Team pressing (Containing): At higher difficulty levels, the bot now actively contains the ball carrier with a second player. The AI now applies double pressure to the ball carrier, making it more difficult to break through the defense.
  • Maintaining the defensive line: AI-controlled defenders now behave more intelligently at higher difficulty levels. They no longer rush out toward the ball carrier too early, helping maintain the defensive line and avoid leaving open space for forwards making runs in behind.
  • Shot blocking: Starting from medium difficulty and above, the bot now reacts much more effectively to shots on goal. Defenders actively attempt to block the ball and close down its flight path, neutralizing the threat.
• Fixes:
  • Fixed an issue where the bot could sprint for too long at higher difficulty levels and accidentally run the ball out of play on the flank. The AI now controls its speed more effectively near the touchline.
  • Fixed bot movement speed and movement mode during defensive set pieces.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed users to consistently intercept the bot’s passes from free kicks.
  • Fixed an issue with frequent passes while turning.

Season 26/27 marks the next step in UFL’s evolution, with a strong focus on how the game feels and plays. We’ve introduced major gameplay updates, reworked the player characteristic system, unveiled a new main menu, and prepared a new lineup of events.

Your decisions and actions now have a greater impact on matches, player characteristics better reflect each footballer’s individual qualities, and a fully redesigned main menu makes it easier to navigate UFL’s key features and content.

And this is only the beginning of Season 26/27.

Here’s a look at the biggest changes already waiting for you in UFL.

Skill Now Matters More in Defense

We’ve adjusted defensive AI behavior and reduced automatic assistance to give you greater control over your defenders.

Successful defending now depends more heavily on your decisions: timely player switching, proper positioning, reading your opponent’s actions, and manual control.

AI assistance remains part of the game, but your own actions and skill now play a greater role in defending.

Teammates Are More Active in Attack

We’ve improved the behavior of AI-controlled players during attacking play.

Better Positioning in the Box

Players now respond more effectively to the position of the ball and the situation around them.

When the ball is inside the opponent’s penalty area, teammates make themselves available more actively for short passes. Outside the box, they position themselves better for low deliveries and crosses.

As a result, off-the-ball movement is more responsive to the situation, giving you more options to keep attacks moving.

Smarter Runs

We’ve also improved how players respond to the offside line.

When making runs, they now better account for the position of the ball carrier, opposing defenders, and open space, looking to move into areas where they can be found more easily with a Through Ball.

Players are also more aware of the offside line and can slow down or stop when appropriate to remain available for a pass.

This helps reduce unnecessary offsides and runs into areas where the ball is difficult to play.

Player Characteristics Rebalanced

We’ve reworked how player characteristics affect core gameplay mechanics.

Even players with high characteristics now operate within a more balanced gameplay model. Differences in characteristic levels remain noticeable during matches, but they will no longer result in excessive advantages in the speed, accuracy, or effectiveness of individual actions.

As a result, gameplay situations are easier to read, giving you more time to make decisions. Player characteristics still have a clear impact on performance, preserving the distinct strengths of individual footballers.

The changes are designed to keep these differences meaningful without allowing characteristics alone to become the deciding factor.

The calculations behind overall characteristics and the rating of new-season cards have also been adjusted: the more important a particular characteristic is for a player’s position, the greater its impact on the final value.

Passing Now Depends More on Player Characteristics 

We’ve reworked regular Passes, Driven Passes, and Through Balls.

The passer’s characteristics now have a greater impact on pass power, accuracy, and buildup speed. We’ve also improved the consistency of pass destination selection.

Differences between footballers with different passing characteristics should now be more noticeable during matches.

Improved Ball Reception

We’ve added new ball reception animations.

Reception quality now depends on the quality of the pass, the receiving player’s characteristics, and pressure from opponents.

This allows players to adapt more naturally to each gameplay situation, reducing the chances of unsuitable animations disrupting an attack.

More Natural Interceptions

We’ve adjusted how defenders react to passes.

Players no longer begin an interception immediately after a pass is made. Their reaction time now depends on several factors:

• whether the player is controlled by the user or AI;
• the direction and speed of his movement;
• his distance from the ball’s trajectory;
• his Defence Awareness characteristic.

This reduces near-instant automatic interceptions and creates more room for passing.

At the same time, reading the game manually and choosing the right defensive position are now even more important.

Improved One-Touch Shots 

We’ve improved input handling for one-touch shots.

The shot power buildup system now better accounts for the moment of contact with the ball. We’ve also added the new One Touch characteristic, which affects shot accuracy, dispersion, and power buildup.

Players with high One Touch are now more effective at finishing first time, making the characteristic’s impact particularly noticeable in quick shooting situations.

Player Characteristics Get More Detailed

We’ve updated the player characteristic system to make it more detailed and intuitive. Some existing characteristics have been split into separate parameters, others have been renamed, and new characteristics have also been added.

Tackles has been split into two separate characteristics: Standing Tackle and Sliding Tackle.

Pass Accuracy has undergone a similar change, with Short Pass and Long Pass now represented as separate characteristics.

We’ve also renamed several characteristics:

• Attack Positioning → Attack Awareness
• Defence Positioning → Defence Awareness
• Awareness → Field Vision
• Positioning (GK) → GK Awareness

In addition, two new characteristics have been added to the Fitness group: Aggression and Balance.

Passing now includes the new Pass Positioning characteristic.

Shooting gains the new One Touch characteristic, with Heading also moved to this group.

These changes allow each footballer’s individual qualities to be represented more accurately while making player cards clearer and more informative.

In this article, you’ll learn how Link-Up Play Styles work in UFL.

UFL’s Link-Up Play Styles system is a dynamic feature that enhances your team’s performance by modeling chemistry between footballers based on their shared traits. Each Player Card is defined by three core attributes — Play Style, Nationality, and League — which can be combined strategically to unlock performance bonuses.

The system rewards smart team-building with instant boosts, introduces variety through unexpected combinations, and keeps gameplay engaging by avoiding repetitive mechanics.

Link-Up is heavily influenced by a Player Card’s tier — higher tiers unlock stronger bonuses and more strategic possibilities.

Please note: Basic Cards are not affected by the Link-Up System.

Here’s how Link-Up Points are calculated:

• Link-Up Point = 0
  The footballer has no active links or is not in a valid position.
• Link-Up Point = 1
  The footballer has some links, but not enough to activate all possible connections.
• Link-Up Point = 2
  The footballer has enough links to fill all available connection slots, but not more than that.
• Link-Up Point = 3
  The footballer has twice as many links as required — or more.
