UFL: Tutorials. How to set up your club

Before you can start scoring goals, you need to create your own club. This guide will take you through the simple process of creating and setting up your own custom football club. 

First, you need to choose a unique name and three-character abbreviation. Both of these will appear on the HUD during your matches. 

Next, browse through the available players and choose a captain for your club. Players with high stats and performance rates make the best captains. Once you’ve found the ideal captain, confirm your choice. 

After choosing your captain, you must set your team’s default formation. UFL offers three classic formations to choose from: 

4-4-2:  This formation plays four defenders, four midfielders, and two forwards. 

5-3-2: This formation’s five defenders (three in the centre, two on the wings) and three midfielders give you an extra boost against attacking teams. Two forwards round out the formation. 

4-3-3: Four defenders, three midfielders, and three forwards make this formation best suited for a possession-focused play style. 

Once you’ve chosen your preferred formation, you’ll see a chart that displays your club’s basic game plan. Players will be assigned to their positions based on their real-life play preferences, with the captain replacing a player in the default squad. 

Finally, you’ll have a chance to confirm all your choices before you finalise the club creation process. You’re ready for kickoff!
